Founded in 1866, Fisk University is located on a hill overlooking downtown Nashville, the capital of Tennessee and one of the nation's most cosmopolitan, progrsssive and dynamic Southern cities.Fisk's historic campus is situated on forty acres of shade trees and gardens located about two miles west of downtown Nashville. More than 5,500 acres of public parks, numerous golf courses, swimming pools, tennis courts, and a nationally recognized public library system are provided by the Metropolitan Government, which serves Nashville and surrounding Davidson County.
